How do I install BeyondReviews?
Find BeyondReviews on the Shopify App Store and click Install. Approve the permissions shown on the install screen (they are explained, line by line, in our Privacy Policy), and the app opens inside your Shopify admin. Setup takes under five minutes: the app detects your theme, and you confirm where the review widget should appear.
How do I add the review widget to my storefront?
The widget ships as a theme app extension, so nothing is pasted into your theme code. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store, then Themes, then Customize. Open App embeds (or add an app block on the product template), enable BeyondReviews, and save. The widget inherits your theme fonts and colours automatically.
How are review requests sent?
When an order is fulfilled, BeyondReviews schedules a review request email to that customer on your behalf, after a delay you choose in Settings. You control the timing, the template, and whether requests send at all. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to email your customers; see section B3 of the Terms of Service.
What does "Verified purchase" mean, and can I add it myself?
The badge is applied automatically when a review matches a real order in your store. It cannot be added manually, by you or by us. That is the point of it.
How do the AI reply drafts work?
For each review you open, the app can draft a suggested reply in your brand voice. Drafts are suggestions only: nothing is published until you approve it. Review text is processed by our AI provider solely to generate the draft and is never used to train models.
The widget is not showing on my store.
Three things to check, in order. One: the app embed is enabled in your theme editor (Online Store, Themes, Customize, App embeds). Two: you are looking at a product that has at least one published review, or the widget is set to show its empty state. Three: your theme is published, not a draft. If all three check out and it still does not render, contact us below; include your store URL and theme name.
Can I import reviews from another app?
Yes. Settings, then Import accepts CSV exports from the major review apps. Imported reviews only receive a Verified purchase badge when they can be matched to an order in your store history.
How does billing work?
Through Shopify billing, on your normal Shopify invoice. Plans and prices are on the App Store listing. Uninstalling the app stops billing at the end of the current cycle; there is nothing to cancel separately.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Shopify notifies us 48 hours after uninstall, and we delete your store data, including customer data, within 30 days; encrypted backups are purged within 90 days. Export your reviews from Settings before uninstalling if you want to keep them. Details are in the Privacy Policy and DPA.
How do I delete a single customer’s data?
Use Shopify’s built-in flow: in Shopify admin, open the customer and request erasure. Shopify forwards the request to us automatically and we fulfil it within 30 days. You can also email [email protected].
