Competitor Review Benchmarker

Name the shops you actually compete with, read two numbers off each of their product pages, and see where you stand in that set.

You, and the shops you compete with

Open each competitor's best-selling product page and read the two numbers off their review widget. Five minutes of work, and the comparison is then against your actual market rather than an industry average nobody can source.

Common questions

What does this benchmark me against?

The shops you name, and nothing else. You open each competitor’s best-selling product page, read the review count and the average rating off their widget, and type them in. That takes about five minutes and gives you a comparison against your actual market rather than against a category you may not really belong to.

Why does it not show an industry average for my category?

Because we do not have that data, and nor does anyone else selling a review app. An honest category benchmark would need the review counts of a representative sample of stores in that category, which is not something anyone can obtain. Any tool that hands you a percentile for fashion or home and garden has invented the breakpoints, and a merchant who plans against invented numbers is planning against fiction. This tool gives you a narrower answer that is true.

What if I am behind on volume but ahead on rating?

That is the better position to be in. Earning good reviews is the hard part, and a rating above the set you entered means the product and the service are landing. Being behind on count is a collection problem: how many customers you ask, and how soon after delivery you ask them.
