Shopify app affiliate and partner programs compared (2026)
Rate, duration, cookie and payout terms for the partner programs of Shopify review apps and the apps agencies install beside them, read from each company’s own page, with what one referred merchant is worth over 24 and 36 months.
Most Shopify review apps run good partner programs, but few publish the numbers. BeyondReviews pays 50% of subscription revenue for the customer’s lifetime, with a 90-day cookie. Loox publishes 20% for a merchant’s first 12 months. Stamped and REVIEWS.io state 20% without a published duration. Judge.me, Okendo, Yotpo, Junip, Klaviyo and Gorgias describe a revenue share without publishing a rate.
What is one referred merchant actually worth?
The rate is the number every program leads with, and it is the least useful one on its own. What an agency or a creator is really choosing is the total a single referral pays over the life of the relationship, and that is rate times price times the months it keeps paying. Duration does more work in that sum than the rate does.
Take one merchant on BeyondReviews Atelier at $99 a month. At 50% that is $49.50 a month to the partner. There is no promo code and no discount, so every month pays the same. Over 24 months that one referral pays $1,188, and over 36 months $1,782.
The same sum on the other plans: Studio at $29 a month pays $348 over 24 months and $522 over 36. Maison at $249 a month pays $2,988 and $4,482. These are arithmetic examples on list prices, assuming the merchant stays on the same plan and keeps paying; they are not what any partner has earned.
For a sense of how the structure changes the total, put the same $99 bill through the two published structures elsewhere in the category. At 20% for the first 12 months, one referral pays $237.60 in total, and month 13 onwards pays nothing. At 20% with no end date, it pays $475.20 over 24 months and $712.80 over 36. Neither of those is a rival’s actual price, only its rate structure applied to one bill so the shapes can be compared.
The programs side by side
One line per program, read on 24 September 2026 from each company’s own public partner or affiliate page. "Not published" means the company’s page describes a commission or revenue share without giving the number, and the detail comes once you apply. Every one of these is a sound program run by a good product, and terms change, so check each company’s page before you quote a figure.
- BeyondReviews: 50% of subscription revenue for the customer’s lifetime. 90-day cookie, last touch attribution. Paid monthly on the 5th, $50 minimum, USD. No promo code or discount. For large audiences only: a website in the top 100,000 in the world by traffic, a YouTube channel with 25,000 subscribers, or a newsletter or podcast with 10,000 readers or listeners. Agencies have their own partner route.
- Shopify Partner Program (Launch Partner revenue share): 20% of the merchant’s Shopify subscription plus 0.1% of eligible online GMV, for a 4-year term, on stores you build and transfer (terms effective 10 August 2026). Payouts once the balance reaches $25. For Shopify Partners who build stores. This pays for Shopify plans, not for the apps a merchant installs.
- Shopify Affiliate Program: up to $150 per qualified referral to a paid Shopify plan, varying by the referral’s location. Referrals tracked for 30 days from the click. For creators, course makers and content publishers.
- Loox: 20% of net revenue for the referred merchant’s first 12 months. Attribution is by the partner’s unique promo code rather than a cookie. Paid monthly, within 30 days of Loox receiving the Shopify payout, by PayPal or Tremendous. Minimum payout not published.
- Stamped: 20% commission on every brand you introduce that signs up for a Stamped plan. Duration, cookie and payout terms not published. For agencies and platforms, with co-marketing on offer.
- REVIEWS.io: 20% commission for referrals to Official Partners, per its own agency partner post. Duration, cookie and payout terms not published. For agencies, with an agency portal and a partner directory.
- Junip: revenue share on every referral for as long as you remain an active partner. Rate, cookie and payout terms not published. Self-serve portal for referrals and payouts.
- Okendo: revenue share on referred customers, with a partner portal. Rate, duration, cookie and payout terms not published. Agency and technology partner tracks.
- Yotpo: revenue share on client referrals. Rate, duration, cookie and payout terms not published. For agencies and technology partners.
- Judge.me: agency and technology partner programs; no commission rate, duration or cookie published on either page. For agencies and app partners.
- Klaviyo (email and SMS, installed beside a review app): referral fees paid as a percentage set out in its partner program guide, which is not public. Rate, duration and cookie not published. For agencies and technology partners.
- Gorgias (helpdesk, installed beside a review app): revenue share on each new customer you bring. Rate, duration, cookie and payout terms not published. For agencies, with a partner manager and lead sharing.
Why does duration matter more than the rate?
Because a merchant who stays for years keeps paying the app for years, and a commission that stops at month 12 leaves every month after it unpaid. A creator whose video keeps sending installs for three years is building a book of referrals; under a 12-month structure the oldest part of that book stops paying while the newest part is still arriving, so the total flattens. Under a lifetime structure every referral keeps paying while the merchant does, so the total compounds.
The worked numbers show it on one bill. On a $99 plan, 20% for 12 months is $237.60 and then stops. 50% for as long as the merchant pays is $1,782 over three years, and $1,188 of that is earned in months 13 to 36, which a 12-month program does not pay for at any rate.
What do published terms change for an agency or a creator?
An agency choosing which review app to put in front of 30 clients has to model the revenue before it commits, and "revenue share" cannot be modelled. The programs above that do not publish figures are good programs; the cost is that you learn the terms after you have applied, and you cannot put them in a proposal or a comparison video until then.
BeyondReviews publishes the whole thing: the rate, how long it lasts, the cookie, the payout day, the minimum, what is commissionable and what is not (the Studio, Atelier and Maison base plans and UGC Studio earn commission; Boosts and other one-time purchases do not), and what we do not offer yet. There is no partner portal, no co-marketing program and no tier ladder: statements arrive by email, a person answers every partner email, and there is one rate for everyone. The full terms are on the partner terms page.
What does the merchant get when you recommend BeyondReviews?
A referral only keeps paying if the merchant keeps finding it useful, so the product matters as much as the program. BeyondReviews does the display job every review app does, photo and video reviews, Google stars and every widget, on every plan including the free one. Then it makes the reviews grow traffic: it counts the phrases customers repeat, drafts every reply in the store’s voice with one of those phrases worked in where it fits, and prints approved phrases into the product page’s own HTML, where Google and AI answer engines read them. Nothing publishes without the merchant’s approval.
The free plan costs $0 with no card. Studio is $29 a month, Atelier $99 and Maison $249, all billed through Shopify, with a 16-day trial on Atelier and Maison. Existing reviews import at setup, so a client can switch from another review app without starting again. For a creator, the free AI readiness checker at /tools/ai-readiness-checker/ is something you can run on screen against any store, no account needed.
How do I join?
Apply at /partners/ if you have a large audience. A website in the top 100,000 in the world by traffic, a YouTube channel with 25,000 subscribers, or a newsletter or podcast with 10,000 readers or listeners. A person reads every application and checks the numbers. On approval you get a tracked link and 50% of what every merchant you refer pays, for as long as they pay it. There is no promo code and no discount. Agencies have their own partner route at /for/agencies/.
Frequently asked questions
Which Shopify apps pay recurring commission?
Of the programs that publish their terms, BeyondReviews pays 50% every month for the customer’s lifetime and Loox pays 20% monthly for the first 12 months. Stamped and REVIEWS.io state a 20% commission without publishing how long it lasts. Junip, Okendo, Yotpo, Klaviyo and Gorgias describe a revenue share, which is recurring by nature, without a published rate. Shopify itself pays 20% of the subscription for 4 years on stores its partners build and transfer.
Which Shopify apps pay commission for life?
BeyondReviews pays 50% for as long as the referred merchant keeps paying, with no 12-month cap and no step-down. Junip says its revenue share runs for as long as you are an active partner, without publishing the rate. The other programs in this comparison either publish a fixed term, such as Loox’s 12 months or Shopify’s 4 years, or do not publish a duration at all.
How long do Shopify app affiliate cookies last?
BeyondReviews uses a 90-day cookie with last touch attribution. Shopify’s own affiliate program tracks referrals for 30 days from the click. Loox attributes by the partner’s unique promo code at install rather than by cookie. The other programs here do not publish a cookie length on their public pages, so ask before you build a campaign around one.
Do I need to be a Shopify Partner to join an app’s affiliate program?
Not for BeyondReviews: agencies, freelancers, developers and creators can all apply, and Shopify Partner-verified applicants are approved automatically. Shopify’s own Launch Partner revenue share is paid through the Shopify Partner Dashboard, so it does need a Partner account, while the Shopify Affiliate Program is a separate application open to creators and publishers. BeyondReviews asks for a website and a sense of who you work with, not Partner status.
What is one referred merchant worth over three years?
On BeyondReviews, an example merchant on Atelier at $99 a month pays the partner $1,782 over 36 months. On Studio it is $522, on Maison $4,482. These are arithmetic on list prices, assuming the merchant stays on the same plan.
When and how are BeyondReviews partners paid?
Monthly, on the 5th, for the previous month, in USD. The minimum payout is $50; anything below rolls over. Commission is paid on subscription revenue actually kept, so a refund or chargeback is deducted from the next statement.
